You can make any changes to the filter policy and then apply it just by clicking the button "Apply" on the toolbar. Except the item "Don't show any custom toolbar in the taskbar (need system restart for this change to take effect)" under the "Special Items" tree, all the changes you have made take effect without system restart once you click the button "Apply" on the toolbar.
